Sweet Reunions and New Adventures

Yes!  We have finally returned to our beloved Uganda.  God is good - and He provided the way here, as well as went with us on our journey.  We are now in our visiting home for 5 months. This time around brings reunions with old friends and joy into our home, from the first night.

This time also brings with it a new face.  Peter Rexford joined us for the first three weeks of the journey.  He is no stranger to many of you, as he too attended Hillmon Grove Baptist Church with our family.  Peter is having the experience and adventure of a lifetime.  Although his time here is short, his memories will be rich. He's been here less than a week, and he's fallen in love with Uganda - and the people of Uganda have fallen in love with him. Today, he will be going to a few local farms to work beside the vets and employees of the Ministry of Agriculture.  This is the educational part of his visit.  He is praying that there will be opportunities to bring the Gospel, even at these locations.

We've all walked to town at least once now - for Peter, it's been more than once a day.  Eli rode a motorcycle taxi a short way and when the guys caught up to him, he was already preaching to the taxi drivers!

Yesterday, the guys (Jim, Peter, Eli and Alex-my African brother), went evangelizing in Kasoli.  As you may remember from previous blogs, Kasoli is a slum area of Tororo.  It has many displaced families and poverty is amplified here more than many places in this town.  The guys spoke to three households about the fallen condition of humanity, sin and hell, and the atoning blood of Jesus.  They shared how His sacrifice serves as a substitution for us, when we repent and put our trust in Him. Please pray for all those who hear this message, to feel conviction and a sincere desire to surrender all to God.  He is faithful to forgive us.

This week begins a very aggressive ministry schedule.  Peter may work a bit with the animals, but then accompany us as we visit six or seven area churches and their villages.  These visits include evangelizing the entire village, beginning discipleship training, youth mentorship and development, and concludes with the visitors teaching/preaching on Sunday.  Whew.  It's beyond exciting, but the glory and purpose is all God's. How blessed we are to have such a God, that allows us to be part of His awesome work and plan.
