Returning Home

After 5 very long years, the Lord has seen fit to return us to our second home in Tororo, Uganda. Our last trip was in 2018 and was to be followed by another in 2020, and another in 2022. But, C-VID struck and the world shut down. Not only was our travel delayed, but the world truly changed. Such sorrow, such isolation, and such despair surfaced over these years. But, not everything had a negative outcome. Though difficult to go through, the church sifted out those who were unwilling to stand and gather for worship each Lord's Day. New ways of reaching lost people were created, and funds that would have been spent on the mission field were still spent on the mission field. What do I mean by that?

Though we were unable to visit our beloved Ugandan family and church all those years, together with our home church's generosity, we sent monies to our indigenous missionaries for the construction of a Biblical Training Center, and schooling for young men to attend seminary. People were hearing the gospel, and lives were being changed even through this terribly long separation! Glory to God!

Now, as our family prepares for a glorious reunion, and hard work for the next three months, we praise God for the opportunity to be together again and work hand in hand for His glory!

I will do my best to update this blog weekly, barring any illnesses or power outages. ;)   I truly desire for you all to come alongside us for the journey. Your prayers are coveted, and we will continue to pray for each of you, as well.

For those who have helped support this mission, we humbly thank you. Our primary mission is evangelism and discipleship, but having funds to help church members in need is a joyous blessing. If you desire to contribute, just let us know. Your love and prayers are most needed though.

Some immediate prayer requests include -

-That we, and our baggage, arrive in Uganda without much incident.

-That we bring encouragement to the body of believers at Rock Baptist Church.

-For the sermons and teachings that Jim and Eli will present - that the Lord is strong in their weakness, and speaks through them mightily.

-For our evangelism efforts to be fruitful. That the Lord prepares the hearts who will hear His Word.

Again, thank you for all of your love and support. I hope you will enjoy the adventure that lies before us. For now, I will say, "Tutonana", which means "until later".

Soli Deo Gloria,

Chrissie, Jim, and Eli
