Home Again, Home Again...Back in Uganda

This week marks our return to our beloved Uganda, only this time, we brought more visitors with us to experience this lovely land, and bring the Good News to the people here. Along for the adventure this time are Ella Johnson, Emily Rexford, Jack Wixtrom, Sydney Wixtrom, and Zach Cullison. Each of them are friends of Eli's and he is very happy to have them here as part of the family. They have already embraced the people and are adapting very well to the culture. The hardest part has been getting passed the jet-lag.

Our journey began very early Wednesday morning at the airport, with a 5:20am flight from North Carolina to Entebbe, Uganda. After 23 hours of flying, we had an additional 7 hour drive to the house we are calling home for the next 3 months. As soon as we arrived, we were literally too tired to sleep right away. We were greeted with hugs and cheers, and my heart was bursting with joy, seeing our old friends. Thankfully, they also fed us well and sent us to bed before it was too late.

On Friday, we met many of the pastors we will be working with for the next several weeks. We went over our schedule, which is very aggressive, but wonderful. Tomorrow we will begin the ministry of evangelism in the village of Nyangole. We are to show up at 9:00am, and we anticipate returning after 5:00pm. This is what we have all been preparing for and now it's time.

Today, we were blessed to have some time with our old friend and neighbor, Sam. He was delighted to receive us and fed us a small feast. We sang songs from the FAITH Players musical, "Estella", as well as Amazing Grace, and the local song, BaBa Wabi Guni.  It's been a happy day. Much more excitement and stories will soon follow, as Salt and Light Uganda Team brings the Gospel to a thirsty nation. Pray for our team and for the ones that will hear the Word tomorrow. Be blessed, dear friends. May the Grace of God be with you all.

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!'"  ~ Romans 10:14-15
